The Pittsburgh South Writers Group began with two writers at Bethel Park Library. After chatting about writing and editing, the two strangers agreed on the need for a writers' group based in the south of Pittsburgh. The two became the founders of a group dedicated to holding meaningful and inspiring discussions on the topic of writing and publishing, with an emphasis on holding a monthly meeting that would serve as a chance for members to critique submitted works.
The PSWG has undergone many changes since then, but it remains a place where passionate writers come together to hone their craft and work with fellow Pittsburgh writers.
Cathy Greco - Cathy is an author of fantasy and science fiction stories in all their various forms. She has had a short story published in the anthology Alternate Hilarities and has self-published a novella under the pen name Cameo MacPherson. A graduate of St. Vincent College, she is proud to have put her degree to absolutely no use, choosing to appear instead on stage and (TV) screens in a variety of bit parts that most likely no one will ever see.
David Volk- David writes under super secret pen names, but he's actually pretty famous. Okay, no he's not, but he loves this writing group and they've taught him a ton about writing well. He writes about love, life, after-life, and time-travel. He's completed a novella and is working on a second, and he couldn't have done it without this group.
With special thanks and acknowledgment to the founders and previous moderators: Holly Christine Leary, Wendy Kelly, and Sandy Ward Bell. Without them, none of this would have been possible.
